ACHING

I ache for you, my love,
Like a starfish
Divided into two,
My side still aches for you.
Phantom pain for a missing rib!
You were sprung from my flesh,
Or I from yours.

I ache for you, my love,
Who fits against me
Like spoons in a drawer
Or the sea against the shore,
Or yin and yang -
Your body against me,
Head at my neck,
Hip at my waist.

I ache for you, my love,
My every extremity designed for you
Lips, nose, chin, tongue,
Fingers, phallus, arms, belong
To your hollows, slopes and valleys,
Your inlets, coves and dunes.

I ache for you, my love,
Like sea foam aches
To melt into sand.
I crash upon the strand,
I rush to die like breakers on your rocks.
Surging and receding,
Each wave shapes you,
I leave me, as I take you...

Oh, how I ache for you, my love....
