PHOTOS ON MY OFFICE WALL

I have watched my children grow
From the time that they were small
In only two dimensions:
photos on my office wall.......
"Well, he was a good provider"
I'm sure that's what they'll say
But my children barely know me
And the time has slipped away ...

I'm rarely home for dinner
Working late into the night
And when my children see their Daddy,
He and mommy often fight
It's not that I don't love her,
It's the bills, they're always late
Till frustration turns to anger
And the anger turns to hate.

We struggle for a living,
Sell our lives to pay the rent,
And through the miracle of plastic,
Our next paycheck's always spent
I have watched my children grow
From the time that they were small
In only two dimensions:
Photos on my office wall.......
